Not too surprising there is no log, because the error is because venus
could not create its logfile :)

Coda shouldn't need this for anything.

It is
cmon is a fairly simpleminded curses application, it is quite possible it

Venus is unable to create its logfile.
What is the logfile set to in /etc/coda/venus.conf ? (the default is
/usr/coda/etc/venus.log) and what is in /usr/coda/etc/vstab ? You may want
to make sure you can write a file in that location, too.

Good luck,
