Just guessing, but it might be necessary to check /etc/hosts.{allow,deny}.
Be sure that all your clients have access permissions.
I have a line like:
> ALL: 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0
in my /etc/hosts.allow, which is easy to handle, but your preference may 
vary.
