Yup, Alexander had already changed the code that updates the i_size of
the inode, so the patch is copying in the wrong direction. I've got an
updated patch that does it right.

He tested the new patch and it seems to work for him. I'll send you the
new version (or put it at the ftp-site) later on, I've done some more
cleaning up and want to make sure I didn't break too much :)
