Coda File System

compiling coda-4.3.13

I have tried compiling coda-4.3.13 (from both the rpm and the tarball),
and have run into tha same problem with both. After numerous compiler
warnings about implicitly casting pointers, I get:

cc -g -g -gstabs -MD -DLINUX  -I- -I.
-I/usr/src/redhat/BUILD/coda-4.3.13/include -I/usr/include
-DPRIVATE=static   -c filcon.c -o filcon.o
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `-ltermcap', needed by `filcon'.
Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory
`/usr/src/redhat/BUILD/coda-4.3.13/coda-src/fail'
----> Error in fail
make[1]: *** [Coda] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/redhat/BUILD/coda-4.3.13/coda-src'
----> Error in coda-src
make: *** [Coda] Error 1

This looks to me like a bug in a Makefile somewhere -- it is trying to
build "-ltermcap" instead of treating that as a compiler flag -- but I
cannot track down where this problem is coming from. Has anyone else run
into this?

I am running RedHat 4.2 (kernel 2.0.30). My only unusual patch I'm using
is one to optimize performance for my Cyrix 6x86 processor... I'd be
surprised if that was causing me trouble.

Thanks,

-Eli Daniel
